Postural drainage for children: Upper lobes (front)Infants: Lean back about 30 degrees while resting your child's back on your chest. Keep the child steady by holding him or her around the waist with one arm. With the other arm, repeat gentle clapping of a cupped hand on your child's chest between the collarbone and the nipple on each side. Keep clapping for 3 to 5 minutes. Toddlers and older: Lean your child back about 30 degrees on a pillow. Repeat gentle clapping of a cupped hand on your child's chest between the collarbone and the nipple on each side.
